Shambhala Vision Campaign:

The Sakyong Foundation, in collaboration once again with Shambhala, offered a $100,000 challenge grant for the Shambhala Vision campaign. This campaign was part of a move towards a more integrated approach to finance and fundraising in Shambhala, and expressed support for key priorities the Sakyong highlighted for the year.

Funds raised through the Shambhala Vision campaign contributed to the following four projects:

Rigden Lineage thangka

A unique depiction of the Shambhala lineage tree, commissioned by the Sakyong from a team of artists led by pre-eminent thangka painter Ngoedup Rongae. Learn more »

Scorpion Seal retreat cabins

Initiate the construction of these cabins beginning at Karme Choling – to enable Acharyas, senior teachers and students to practice the heart terma of the Druk Sakyong, the highest of the practices he brought into the world. Learn more »

Kalapa Centre in Halifax

Conduct the next phase of planning for establishing a building that would house the international seat of the Sakyong and Sakyong Wangmo, Shambhala’s central government and executive, as well as the Halifax Shambhala Centre, including a large civic and cultural event space. Learn more »

Shambhala Mountain Center

Building on the existing foundations of our community’s practice and study at this power spot in our mandala, continue to develop it as an international focal point for the Sakyong’s aspiration to apply these teachings in the service of world peace. Learn more »
