One of the Foundation’s goals is to build Shambhala’s financial sustainability by creating endowments, where contributions become a legacy that is protected and invested, and a portion of investment profits are used to make grants.

The Sakyong Lineage Fund
Over $36,000 of its investment profits were granted to Shambhala’s parsonage expenses from this fund in 2008.
The Dorje Kasung Endowment
In 2008, a seed endowment of $60,000 has been established for the benefit of the Dorje Kasung service organization. Learn More…
th-shambala Boulder Shambhala Center Endowment On Shambhala Day 2010, the Boulder Shambhala Center started an endowment with an initial investment of $60,000 – the first endowment ever created for the benefit of a Shambhala Center. NAPOCS – The North American People of Color Scholarship Fund has seeded an endowment with The Sakyong Foundation. Their goal is to grow the endowment so that investment profits can be used to give scholarships to people of color on the Shambhala Buddhist path who aspire to attend programs that will enable them to contribute more fully to Shambhala society and to be of benefit to people who share their backgrounds.
