Established by the Sakyong, Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche, the Foundation provides support to organizations and projects whose activities exemplify the vision of Shambhala: a contemplative tradition grounded in the view that the path to peace for individuals and society is based on the cultivation of universal human qualities of wisdom, compassion and courage.

  • Voices

The Foundation's goal is to help bring to life our best aspirations as expressed by the voices of our community.

“The key message in Shambhala is peace - how you develop peace, how you train for peace.”
    Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche
“As I make my first small donation... I would like to share with you my personal aspiration around giving, which softens my heart, opens my purse and produces peace.”
    Terry Rudderham
“The two matching campaigns... transformed the collective lungta of the mandala and radically altered its financial landscape...”
    Richard Reoch
“We have planted a seed that will grow and provide financial opportunities to the Dorje Kasung for many generations to come.”

“Our life is maximum 100 years. You should use it for a meaningful life, a purposeful life. Wealth, fame - these are, I think, secondary. Most important is peace of mind. Peace of mind comes from compassion, unbiased compassion, which everybody has the seed of. So therefore it is important to nurture that seed.”
His Holiness the Dalai Lama at The Great Stupa of Dharmakaya, Shambhala Mountain Center, 2006

“If you look at the teachings of all the wise people throughout history, this is what they've practiced—the ability to stand in someone else's shoes.”

“The premise of Shambhala vision is that, in order to establish an enlightened society for others, we need to discover what inherently we have to offer the world... We should make an effort to examine our own experience, in order to see what it contains that is of value in helping ourselves and others to uplift their existence.”
